Kevin Clark, co-author of The Liberal Arts Tradition: A Philosophy of Christian Classical Education, explains how this book defines a framework in which the Trivium and the Quadrivium are the core of a curriculum that includes piety, gymnastics, music, philosophy, and theology. Clark explains how the end (telos) of a Liberal Arts education is to form students who are fully human, having been trained in both cardinal and intellectual virtues. Such students are able to be useful to their neighbors and societies in practical ways, but they are also trained to engage the world with a “loving gaze” of wonder and wisdom.
