Ken Myers presents examples of music from five centuries that captures some sense of the astonishing fact of the Nativity of our Lord. Some of the works focus on the paradox of the God-Man, while others — settings of the Christmas Day antiphon Hodie Christus natus est — express the glory that is revealed in this wondrous birth. Also included is a brief segment from an interview with conductor Paul Walker (Volume 83) on a famous and haunting composition from Josquin des Prez. Ken surveys more Christmas music in a new post at canticasacra.org.
