Kevin J. Vanhoozer
Kevin J. Vanhoozer (BA Westmont College; M.Div. Westminster Theological Seminary; Ph.D., Cambridge University) is currently Research Professor of Systematic Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Previously he served as Blanchard Professor of Theology at Wheaton College Graduate School (2009-12) and as Senior Lecturer in Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Edinburgh (1990-98). He is married to Sylvie, from France, author of The Art of Living in Season: A Year of Reflections for Everyday Saints, and has two adult daughters, one son-in-law (and fourteen PhD students). He is currently writing a three-volume systematic theology. His other interests include reading novels, watching foreign films, playing the classical piano, and attending the theater.
He is the author of several books, including several for pastor theologians, including Everyday Theology: How to Read Cultural Texts and Interpret Trends, Faith Speaking Understanding: Performing the Drama of Doctrine, The Pastor as Public Theologian: Reclaiming a Lost Vision, Pictures at a Theological Exhibition: Scenes of the Church’s Worship, Witness, and Wisdom and of the forthcoming Mere Christian Hermeneutics: Transfiguring What it Means to Read the Bible Theologically.
