Rachel Hicks, Assistant Editor
Rachel E. Hicks’s poetry, essays, and fiction have appeared in Presence, Ekstasis, Front Porch Republic, Veritas Journal, The Baltimore Review, The Windhover, Briar Cliff Review, Fare Forward, and other journals. A two-time Pushcart Prize nominee, she also won the 2019 Briar Cliff Review Fiction Prize. Prior to her work at Mars Hill Audio, she was a freelance copyeditor and the editor of Among Worlds magazine. Her career also has included teaching (high school English and homeschool) and volunteering with an international relief and development agency.
Rachel was born in the foothills of the Himalayas and spent the bookends of her childhood in India, with moves to Pakistan, Jordan, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Hong Kong in between. As an adult she’s lived in Phoenix, Arizona, and Chengdu, China. She and her family have lived in Baltimore, Maryland, since repatriating to the U.S. in mid-2013.
