A Society for Classical Learning Partner Feature

released 10/22/2024

In July 2021, Alex Markos gave a virtual lecture to classical Christian educators in which he explored the transformational power of Aslan as the Christ figure in C. S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia. By examining how Aslan speaks and acts in key one-on-one interactions with children in each of the seven stories, Markos shows what we can learn about how Christ interacts with us — as our redeemer, guide, leader, teacher, and more. These bracing encounters reveal the dignity with which Aslan treats the children and how he is a good, albeit not “tame,” lion.
