In this June 2018 lecture, Robert Benne surveys the contemporary landscape in which Christian scholars attempt to integrate their faith and their intellectual life. While there are some schools and Christian scholars that take seriously the biblical command to “love the Lord your God with all your mind,” the general story, says Benne, is one of failure. Benne makes a case for the need for classical Christian schools to nurture a robust Christian intellectual and moral life in their students, inculcating in them a comprehensive Christian vision that addresses the central human questions and is able to engage in an increasingly hostile secular academic environment.
