Thomas E. Bergler
Dr. Tom Bergler serves as Professor of Christian Faith and Practice at Huntington University where he has taught theology, ministry, and Bible courses for over 20 years. He earned an MA in Theology and Church History from Wheaton College and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Notre Dame, where he specialized in American religious history and the history of youth ministry. His book The Juvenilization of American Christianity was featured in a cover story in Christianity Today and won an Award of Merit in the Church and Pastoral Leadership category of the Christianity Today book awards. He served for 12 years as Senior Associate Editor of The Journal of Youth Ministry. He was awarded the Luke J. Peters Chair in the Arts and Sciences by Huntington University in 2022. He continues to be involved in ministry with young people through leading a young adult men’s discipleship group, helping to lead Huntington University’s high school theology camp called Veritas Theology Institute, and teaching each summer for the Campus Mission Academy, which trains undergraduate students to be missionaries on their campuses. Before his academic career he worked for seven years for University Christian Outreach, an ecumenical campus ministry. He is a member of Risen Savior Church, Huntington, Indiana, where he preaches monthly.
