Lecturer and writer Marva Dawn passed away on April 18th at the age of 72. Dawn’s many books including Reaching Out Without Dumbing Down: A Theology of Worship for This Urgent Time (1995), A Royal Waste of Time: The Spendor of Worshiping God and Being Church for the World (1999), and The Sense of the Call: A Sabbath Way of Life for Those Who Serve God, the Church, and the World (2006). This Feature presents an interview with Marva Dawn from Volume 38 of the Journal (1999), during which she talks about concerns discussed in two of her books: Is It a Lost Cause? Having the Heart of God for the Church’s Children (1997) and Sexual Character: Beyond Technique to Intimacy (1993).
